Onori founder Nicholas with his Japanese wife Risa Otaki, symbolizing the cultural inspiration behind the brand name Onori

Brand Story

Onori is a name inspired by family and culture, taken from the surname of founder Nicholas’s wife, Risa O combined with “nori”, which means seaweed in Japanese. Nicholas’s love for Japan — especially its food and traditions — shaped the heart of Onori.

A lifelong sushi enthusiast, Nicholas preferred sushi with less rice and more fish, a balance that lets the freshness of the seafood stand out. That simple preference became the foundation of Onori’s open-style hand rolls — crisp nori, light rice, and generous premium toppings.

Bringing this idea to Singapore, Onori serves artisanal Japanese hand rolls that are fresh, fast, and full of flavor — reimagining sushi for everyday life.
